New Raid Model for Future Expansions

First of as blizzard stated that it is difficult to balance raid
encounters for different raid sizes but yet again they introduce 10/25
man modes, I know it will be flex but it does not fix the core problem
that the actual dungeon(bosses and mechanics) is best tuned for 20 man.
Think of Karazhan and ZA, how well it was tuned and now imagine if you
could do them on 25 man, a lot of bosses just wouldn't work because they
were specifically designed for 10 man.


Secondly aesthetically some dungeons are made more for 25 man for
example Ulduar was a huge semi outdoor raid but it had 10/25 man option
but when you do it on 10 man you just feel so weird and out of place and
some rooms just way too big with too much free space. 10 man dungeons
should be with less open space and raid bosses should be smaller in size
to fit the group size.


Thirdly There are 4 difficulties that you can do for the same raid and
that is just flawed design in my opinion. It makes the dungeon feel
stale a lot faster because for example in MoP if your guild did 25 man's
then you could do raid finder(to gear up alts), flex(to gear up new
members/alts) and normals for progression and then if you clear it you
then got heroic to do. You basically do the same raid 4 times but with
increased difficulty each time which in my opinion is just daunting and
makes the dungeon feel very dull very fast.


I think Blizzard should go back to its root and bring back only 10 man
dungeons into the raid model. I feel it is the step in right direction
to diversifying content and thus making it more enjoyable. I feel you
would have more freedom to make more creative mechanics for 10 man and
20 man when they are separate raids with different dungeons and bosses. I
am not quite sure how you could do it but I am sure there is a way
where you satisfy the newbies and the hardcore players.


10 mans in my opinion should be as a side raid to the main 20 man raid,
thus making 20 man as this special raid for elite players. This would
also make guilds that ''only'' raid 20 man value 10 man more because its
one of the steps before doing 20 man and making guilds more diverse.
