A new Tennessee state law involving athletes in schools and community
sports programs and concussions has taken effect. This new law will
require all sports programs to inform parents, coaches, and athletes
about concussions.

 Also, if a player is showing signs of a concussion
during a game, they must be taken off of the field and evaluated. The
player can return to the game if they are okay. The law will also
require coaches to take a head injury course so they can recognize the
signs of a concussion. This new law is meant to help protect young
